Remember have patience and start with the small steps as you progress. These are some tips you can start with.

  1. Begin to grow sprouts and herbs  in your balcony, terrace, or windows sill.

  2. Adopt a compost to process organic waste back into healthy fertile soil.

  3. If you have a house place barrels or drums to catch the water rain of your gutters for watering your lawn, food garden etc.

  4. Reducethe amount of waste you produce by buying less packaged goods choose products with biodegradable packaging or none at all.

  5. Reuseitems that may otherwise bee thrown out.   6. Go vintage the more you buy used the more you help reduce factory production of things that may very well already be there. Have swap parties with your friends and exchange clothes and accessories that will thrill you. Find a really a sassy, cute and funky vintage store where you can go when you get the ¨lets go shopping¨ bug.

  7. Make sure you always have cloth bags with you for making trips to the grocery store. Keep them in your car and make yourself go get them if you forget them. Reduce the needs for plastic bags.

  8. Have a water filter and glass refillable water bottles to eliminate your needs of plastic bottled water.

  9. Get yourself a bike and cycle to do simple errands in the neighborhood such as going to the grocery, post office, drycleaners, haircut etc. Make sure you build in a nicely sized basket to carry things in your bike.

  10. Plant a permaculture garden. If you have a backyard it can turn into a green edible haven. By planting your own food you reduce your dependence on shopping veggies from far off places, which creates pollution and greenhouse gases contributing to climate change.

  11. Have planting party’s where friends can come and help get garden projects done and have a healthy food potluck after.

  12. Consume herb, teas, fresh juice, and healthy veggies from your garden harvest.

  13. Spend time in nature, go out and explore biking, running or swimming. Gardening mulching and lifting is also a great workout and you get to connect with the great outdoors.

  14. Breathe more fresh air and remember to stretch as you breathe. Give yourself moments of daily silence.

  15. Remember to practice gratitude, patience and present moment awareness.
